Omicron Delta Kappa
National Leadership Honor Society

Founded in 1914, Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK), the National Leadership Honor Society, recognizes and encourages superior scholarship, leadership and exemplary character. Membership in ODK is a mark of highest distinction and honor. The ODK Circle at Tulane University was installed in 1930.

Membership in ODK is as much an obligation and responsibility in leadership as it is a mark of highest distinction and honor. Membership is awarded to undergraduate junior and senior students; to graduate and professional students; to faculty, staff, administration and alumni; and to persons qualifying for membership "honoris causa."

The Society recognizes achievement in:

  • scholarship
  • athletics
  • campus and community service, social and religious activities, and student government
  • journalism, speech, and the mass media
  • creative and performing arts.
The ideal ODK candidate will demonstrate a high level of achievement in at least one of the above-mentioned areas of collegiate and/or community activities.

To be eligible for membership in ODK, a student must also meet the following minimum requirements:
  1. Junior standing based on completed credit hours.
  2. Undergraduates must rank in the highest 35 percent in cumulative grade point average in their respective classes of the schools or colleges in which they are enrolled. GPA cut-offs for each class are posted on the ODK website at www.tulane.edu/~odk.  Graduate/professional students must have at least a 3.00 GPA.

The one-time initiation and membership fee is $95, payable upon membership selection.
