Administrative Referral for Alcohol or Drugs

List of Advisors/Advocates

For the health and safety of students, Tulane University permits the administrative referral of students, whose use or abuse of alcohol or drugs may be a detriment to themselves or others, to trained alcohol educators or counselors.

The student is notified via e-mail and letter by the Department of Housing and Residence Life (HRL) or the Office of Student Conduct that a referral has been initiated based on information contained in at TUPD Report.  Students must schedule an appointment within three (3) business days.  Failure to successfully complete any part of the referral process (i.e.,schedule meeting, attend meeting, comply with directive by clinician) will result in following additional penalties including but not limited to monetary fines, notification of parents, or registration block.

An administrative referral does not create a judicial record for the student.
